I knitted this double strand of BabyMerino from Drops, which is super soft and absolutely itch and thick and warm. Gauge for this yarn was 24 m 10 cm using needle vizcaya 2.5-3.5. But since I knitted with double yarn, I knitted with needles 5, as in the recipe. Colour light blue, 24
(It just had to be blue for me to be sure that Daniel was going to go with it. 3-year despite de-lux, and extremely focused on clothing ......) It just went with 100g of yarn this yarn for a cap.
I knitted this hat from pattern from the book "In all simplicity" (In all simplicity) of Marte Helgetun, wooden Contain 26 patterns for garnments for Kindergarden children (1-6 yrs). The recipes are easy to understand.
The hat sits well. It is easy to knit, and is knitted back and forth on thick needles, and at the end mounted in the back. Cables are easy to knit, just try! And you'll be hooked, like me!
I cut out to make holes along the edge of the top, because it is no problem to enter the cord through the garment so thick sticks, and then I can as well try on the hat and then decide where I want the string, so the hat sits as good as possible :). And since my 3 year old is long around the head, I put on one of stitches per. cm in addition to the pattern, where the largest for six years had a head circumference of 46 cm. So to get 52 cm, I added 6 stitches. I followed vizcaya otherwise the pattern, but knit an additional increase of the flap before I started to trap and knitted some extra grooves before I started on the next earflap (I measured the kid to make sure it was correct and did not have to knit the same number of grooves I thought I needed midtown. calculations mine ....)
It is actually not difficult at all.
